It's not the first time a movie has inspired me to visit a new place. The Bratislava of Eurotrip As weird as it is, I first heard about Bratislava from a lovely movie called Eurotrip. If you are not familiar with this movie, you are missing out. Not because it is a great movie, but because it provides a whole host of stereotypes about Europe, including that Slovakia, Bratislava in particular, is very poor. The cliches Hollywood has about “Eastern Europe” are completely unfounded. The scenes set in Bratislava in Eurotrip were filmed in a Soviet military base in Milovice, Czech Republic, which was abandoned in 1991 and has since been demolished. 8.4K views http://www.slovakia.com/bratislava/ To be honest, the only thing I knew about Bratislava came from the movie Eurotrip.
